Fashion Designer JUNKO AMANO's Thoughts on This Brand
When I was 5 years old, a black Lab used to come and play near where my mother was hanging the laundry. I believe he was a neighbor's dog. When my mother started giving him treats, he began staying longer day by day, and eventually stayed with us all day. One night, curious, we went to the front of the dog's home and saw a small Yorkie inside while the black Lab was sleeping outside the gate. After that, the black Lab, named Kuro, became part of our family and even started to take on the role of my grandfather, picking me up and dropping me off at kindergarten every day, come rain or snow.
As an adult, I met Boo, a Shiba Inu, who stood by my sick mother and continued to give her energy, extending her life from the predicted six months to 10 years. There was also the encounter with an old rescue dog named Chiro, who had lost his will to live and was merely breathing. This 16-year-old dog had been confined to a small stone cell and had never experienced walks. He regained his zest for life and responded to me with his whole being, running, frolicking, and smiling.
I learned and experienced so much, and have received countless gifts from them. So, as one who loves dogs, I want to give back in any way I can.
First, I couldn't find the harness I wanted for my small dog. Chihuahuas have delicate frames, so rather than collars, they need harnesses. I considered ease of wear and removal, holding power, minimal skin friction, stylish appearance, and long-lasting quality. I thought the only option was to create it myself! I visited local breeders to study the bone structures of various dog breeds and, being a designer, I wanted it to look fantastic. One day, I saw a painting of an angel and thought, "Small dogs are angels. I want to envelop them in angel wings!" Inspired by this, I went through trial and error and eventually created a heavenly comfortable harness.
Also, clothing is essential for small dogs. I thought it would be exciting if their clothes were functional, comfortable, and suited their lifestyle and fashion taste. I want them to wear something functional yet timeless and sophisticated, like high-end brands. This desire led to the birth of a brand that aims to satisfy owners who value authenticity.
